“To Paint or Not to Paint” Your Ceiling With Color!

Many of our clients are asking the do’s and don’ts of painting their home’s ceilings… especially with color.

Here are a few tips to make the most of what’s “overhead” in your home.

#1) To add height to a room with low ceilings, paint the ceiling a lighter color than your walls. And that doesn’t always mean “white”. A lighter shade of your wall color will do the trick. Use semi-gloss paint instead of flat paint in low-light rooms.

#2) To lower height in a room with high ceilings, paint the ceiling with a darker shade of your wall color or a totally “different” color…(i.e., taupe walls, green ceiling).

#3) To add drama to any room… irregardless of ceiling height… think “Michelangelo”.  It’s a wonderful surface to embellish… whether its with paint or wallpaper.
