Cleaning vertical blinds is important in order to maintain the pristine condition of your home’s window coverings. Vertical blinds can be dusted in a variety of ways. Here are a few tips and techniques to keep in mind before you dust your home’s vertical blinds.
- Feather Duster: When dusting with a feather duster, close your blinds completely (side to side) to keep slats from bunching. Dust one valance at a time, stroking the duster up and down. Rotate the blinds completely and repeat in order to collect all of the dust.
- White Glove Cleaning: White glove cleaning is an efficient way to dust your blinds (except for use on fabric blinds). Close blinds completely to keep slats from bunching. While wearing a white glove, clean one valance at a time by sliding fingers up and down. Rotate the blinds completely and repeat in order to collect all of the dust.
- Paintbrush Cleaning: Close blinds completely to keep slats from bunching. Dust one slat at a time by using a natural fiber paintbrush (do not use plastic). Rotate the blinds completely and repeat in order to collect all of the dust.
